Meta will be ending former President Trump’s suspension across its platforms, which include Facebook and Instagram, “in the coming weeks,” according to a blog post from the company:
Former President Trump will be allowed back on Instagram and Facebook, the platforms’ parent company Meta announced Wednesday.
Meta Spokesperson Nick Clegg said Trump’s two-year suspension had ended, and his accounts will be added back in the coming weeks.
“Social media is rooted in the belief that open debate and the free flow of ideas are important values,” Clegg wrote in a statement. “As a general rule, we don’t want to get in the way of open, public and democratic debate on Meta’s platforms – especially in the context of elections in democratic societies like the United States.”
The decision comes after the 76-year-old Republican’s 2024 campaign petitioned Meta to unlock his accounts and let Trump post directly to his 34 million followers on Facebook and 25 million followers on Instagram.
As you would expect, the far-left is losing it over this surprise decision:
Of course, normal people are excited to see free speech restored:
Trump was banned in 2020 after being shadowbanned for years following the January 6 protests in Washington DC.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg confimed to Joe Rogan that the FBI was instrumental in getting both Trump banned and the Hunter Biden laptop story censored in 2020:
With the Republican House now planning to investigate that FBI meddling of social media, it makes more sense that Facebook would act now to restore Trump – and other conservatives may soon be unbanned as well.
