The left is literally losing its collective mind over the coming midterm elections.
The latest example of this came Wednesday, as an MSNBC guest “analyst” said that if Republicans take the majorities in Congress, American democracy will end, and “our children” will be jailed and killed by a “brutal authoritarian system.”
An unhinged presidential historian Michael Beschloss unleashed his paranoid delusions live on the air.

“Six nights from now, we could all be discussing violence all over this country. There’s signs that may happen, may God forbid. That losers will be declared winners by a fraudulent election officers, or a secretary of state candidates, or governors, or state legislatures. We could be six days away from losing our rule of law and losing a situation where we have elections that we all can rely on. Those are the foundation stones of democracy.”
He continued, predicting some kind of totalitarian dystopia should the GOP win marginal control over the House and/or Senate:
“A historian 50 years from now, if historians are allowed to write in this country and if there are still free publishing houses and a free press, which I’m not certain of. But if that is true, a historian will say, what was at stake tonight and this week was the fact whether we will be a democracy in the future, whether our children will be arrested and conceivably killed. We’re on the edge of a brutal authoritarian system, and it could be a week away.”

It’s almost unbelievable that this insane clip was permitted to air.
I remember watching this guy on CSPAN in the 1980s, a mellow, well-coiffed gentleman gushing over Nancy Reagan. Over the years he has moved farther and father to the left, until he was driven over the cliff after Trump’s election.
Ironically, of course, the party Bechloss supports is the party of censorship, cancelling; the “politics of personal destruction.” It is the party that down-the-line supported national COVID lockdowns and mask and vaccine mandates, under threat of job loss or even arrest.
And as far as “our children,” it the his party that wants to mutilate children, and seize minors from their parents if Mom and Dad refuse to accept a fake “gender identity” that their activist teacher brainwashed them over.
There is not even an ounce of self-reflection left in the decrepit, bankrupt Democrat ideology. One can only hope Americans remember this on November 8th.
