As the world is observing the historic first funeral of a British monarch in over 70 years, CNN’s Don Lemon had a chance to speak to eminent Royal commenator Hilary Fordwich about it.
So of course, Don made it about — Surprise! — RACE.
Don decided to rip the Royal family for its colonial past, and confront Ms. Fordwich with “demands” that the British Royal family pay out “billions” in “reparations” for slavery and other ills.
Don was totally unprepared for what came next:
I think I saw Lemon’s soul leave his body at about the minute mark. 😭
The slavery and tyranny of England and the Crown isn’t unique in world history. Slavery is as old as mankind, of course. And the Trans-Atlantic slave trade was started by Muslims who captured Blacks, and Black African tribes who sold their brothers and sisters into slavery by the millions.
The unimaginable thing was that the British actually banned slavery, unlike any civilization on any continent of the world up till that point. The world is now more free than any point in world history because of it.
Here’s some great info about the amazing William Wilberforce, by the way!
I’ll leave you with this clip from the 2006 movie Amazing Grace, where Wilberforce talks with his mentor John Newton, the slaver who wrote the famous hymn.
Reading your article has greatly helped me, and I agree with you. But I still have some questions. Can you help me? I will pay attention to your answer. thank you.
